Lodge Officers Training Course Module II - Lesson VIClick Here For The Study Guide THE MASONIC HOME OF FLORIDA NAME LODGE NO. OFFICE HELD SCORE GRADED BY 1. The Masonic Home is under the direct supervision of the Grand Master's Masonic Charities Committee.
2. By virtue of being a non‑profit organization, our Masonic Home is not subject to federal and state regulations normally applicable to a retirement/health care type facility.
3. The only person on the Board of Trustees of the Masonic Home who may give orders and/or instructions to the Administrator of the Home is the Chairman of the Board.
4. The Board of Trustees of the Masonic Home is required to meet at least twice a month.
5. Only Master Masons in good standing in a Florida Lodge are eligible to be members of the Board of Trustees of the Masonic Home.
6. The Masonic Home of Florida derives its operating funds from the Masonic Home Endowment Fund.
7. The Senior Grand Warden is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Masonic Home by order of Grand Lodge regulations.
8. The Masonic Home Endowment and Investment Committee is made up of twenty (20) Master Masons in good standing in Florida Lodges.
9. The regular Sub-Committees of the Endowment Procurement Committee are: 1) Let Your Pennies Make Good Cents; 2) Wills & Gifts; 3) Masonic Home 100.
10. The Endowment Procurement Committee is charged with responsibility for making basic policies for the operation of the Masonic Home.
11. While the Board of Trustees has responsibility for the real property of the Masonic Home, responsibility for personal property lies with the Committee on Grand Lodge properties.
12. The Corporate Board has authority to engage the services of various Trust Banks or State or Federal Bank Trust Departments to be advisors concerning the investment and safety of the Masonic Home Endowment Fund.
13. Only the Grand Lodge at its Annual Grand Communication may alter the rules and regulations governing admission to the Masonic Home.
14. While the Grand Master makes the appointments to the Board of Trustees of the Masonic Home, several others have the right to nominate one member of the Board.
15. The Masonic Home Endowment Procurement Committee is responsible for holding all the assets of the Endowment Procurement Fund in trust.
16. Membership on the Masonic Home Endowment and Investment Committee is contingent upon the Brother having a background in management and investment of funds or some similar strong business background.
17. In addition to providing rules for the administration of the Masonic Home, the Rules and Regulations that govern the Masonic Home also establish directions for the management of the Hal W. Adams Hospital Service Fund and Emergency and Non-Resident Relief Funds.
18. The forms used to make application for admission to the Masonic Home and for seeking assistance from the Relief Funds are prepared and provided by the Grand Treasurer's office.
19. The Rules and Regulations governing our Masonic Home do not make provisions for children to have membership in the Home, however, the Board is empowered to provide help, aid and assistance to orphan children as it deems necessary in the event an application for relief is made. a. All funds which are donated, bequeathed or otherwise transferred or assigned to the Grand Lodge without specific instructions for use are deposited to credit of The Masonic Home Endowment Fund.
